I have been a customer of Wealthsimple for 4 years. In June 2020, I made the decision to transfer my money to another institution. Despite numerous emails and calls, it is March 2021 and I *still* have not been able to transfer my account. That is despite multiple attempts to submit rollover paperwork -- including one time notarized and one time with a medallion signature from my bank. Wealthsimple does not respond to calls and every email response is the same -- they claim they never receive the paperwork despite confirmation it was received by UPS.
I would not trust this business.
At the beginning of signing up I didn't have access to customer support and I was very uneasy about the service. Just now customer support called me 2 weeks later, but the call was great. I got context for the investment, training on how to manage it and overall I feel much better working with this comapny.

Great returns. Super easy to deposit funds and the customer service was quick and to the point. Would recommend to anyone looking to invest money over a period of time.
Wealthsimple has acquired Simple Tax - and everything went downhill! Simple Tax was a straightforward way to file federal taxes, and I always paid (it was voluntary) for the service. Now with Wealthsimple trying to harvest my data and push their products I'm sorry I'm stuck with this pushy organization whose ads dominate my tax filing and whose spam now flows to my inbox. The spam, by the way, is ILLEGAL as there is no Unsubscribe option in their mailings - a violation of Canadian law. I wrote to them to stop, but got no answer. So here I am, trying to comply with Canada's laws by using a company that violates them. Do yourself a favour - avoid these snakes!

I now notice Wealthsimple has replied to this review. THEY ARE SIMPLY LYING TO YOU! Their reply claims there is a simple Unsubscribe link - but that is FALSE. That was the whole impetus for my review - they are spamming all potential customers with NO Unsubscribe option. But Wealthsimple just claims some bizarre alternate reality in which they are not doing exactly what they are doing. So if their reply to me is simply FALSE, and since THEY ARE LYING in that paragraph, I warn all readers not to trust a word of anything they say in any paragraph. I repeat: stay away from these snakes.
Wealth Simple is a great opportunity to control your own investments, or have someone there handle your portfolio for you.
I handle my own, and find that it is a great freedom. It is, also, a learning experience. They do not tell you where to, or where not to, invest. But, they do tell you not to invest anything that you cannot afford to lose. The stocks are not guaranteed money makers. One needs to research and use their gut feelings of when to buy and sell. Somethings work out, some don't. I would definitely suggest it to anyone looking to lower costs of investing, or who wish to handle their own investments. But, as they state 'Make sure any money you are investing is an amount you feel comfortable if the stocks crash. Do your research before investing.'
I use their robo advisor and their trade app. Both work great. Has enabled me and my family to save and invest at our place. Looking forward to seeing how they grow their product.

Been a customer since Sept 2020, so far so good. Looking at return of 7-8% on investment to date.
I am LOOSING MONEY EVERYDAY since I have signed up. I can't neither buy nor sell - my accounts are greyed out - so I can't timely exit my positions. Been calling/emailing them 7 days in a row - nothing, they just don't reply. Been waiting on a phone 30-40 minutes before getting disconnected. I am under impression that there is no organized customer service.
Very disappointed... I am on the verge of contacting the regulator.
Easy to set up. Personal advice available from a human being. Cash transfers very simple. Good app. And best of all, I am 8%up.
Garbage customer service. Good luck getting any help at all in a timely manner, email or phone. Phone calls just get hung up on after 30 mins of hold, they dont even give a callback option (which they should do if theyre “so busy”). As for email, well its been 5 business days since I submitted my support ticket, so you tell me how that makes them seem.
Great service. They have made my exploration into investments manageable, trackable, enjoyable and profitable. Has been a great way to save money on a regular basis, and also in lump sums easy for a novice like my self.
Outstanding company. Whilst they are not the cheapest, their charges are reasonable. The customer service, personal touch, advice and support is second to none.
